My Quick Fix: Guitar Hero III

Guitar Hero III Xbox360Guitar Hero III (GH3)… what to say about it…

For starters, if you’re like me and enjoyed GH2, you are going to enjoy this game — period. The End. Since finishing GH2 and finding their “bonus songs” were more like crappy holiday gifts and that the downloads were basically GH’s songs, the game had gotten well… boring. Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed playing my favorite songs on it but there was no longer the anticipation of coming home from work and rock’n out while I procrastinated and left work to be done during work the next day.

How do I know you will enjoy GH3? Well, because it is basically GH2 with better graphics and a few new modes — hey, if it ain’t broke go fix it. Ah crude, that’s the saboteur’s motto, but you get my meaning. There is nothing revolutionary, just more of the same addicting formula they used in the previous GHs and some new modes which add a new dimension to an otherwise old game that has been detailed with all new, hip graphix.

Game Launch Alert Quadruple Feature!

November 14th, 2007 spencer Posted in PS2, PS3, Video Games, Wii 1 Comment »

Featuring:

Assassins Creed
Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles
Dragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3
WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2008

A quadruple feature today with the launch of 4 brand new video games! Can you tell that Christmas is around the corner?

Assassins CreedFirst off, the much anticipated Assassins Creed for the Xbox 360 and PS3 follows the story of Altair, an elite assassin in the Holy Lands of the 12th century and his many hits on various targets. One of the shining points of this game is the depth and breadth of the cities and environment. The landscape is large and entirely explorable and many of the strangers have their own unique personalities that may help or deter you on your missions. Inspired by true events and characters, Assassins Creed is a mix between action, stealth, and strategy and might just end up being one of the top games of the year.

Resident Evil: Umbrella ChroniclesResident Evil is back with a bang, quite literally. Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles is the first in the series to be in 1st person view (not counting the horrific Resident Evil: Dead Aim). In this one, veteran players get to relive all of their favorite scenes and locations from the earlier games in the series, but newbies can get caught up in the series really quickly as it takes you through the events of at least 4 of the games. Using the newly created Wii Zapper players will need to shoot their way past hordes of the undead. Hopefully, this can be the first Resident Evil game not to emphasize ammo retention…

DBZ: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 - WiiDragonball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3 for the PS2 and Wii is a dream come true for any DBZ fan out there. Taking you through the entire published series (Dragonball, Dragaonball Z, and Dragonball GT), this game boasts a whopping 150 playable characters! Additional upgrades to the game since its predecessor include online play (Wii only) which will allow you to go Super Saiyan on your friends or complete strangers.

WWE 2008The final game being released in today’s explosion of games is WWE Smackdown! vs Raw 2008, which allows you to pit your favorite wrestlers against each other in a totally non staged fight! What’s great for fans out there is that this game is being released on virtually every console - Xbox 360, PS3, PS2, Wii, NDS, and PSP! Obviously the game experience will be very different on the Wii and NDS, but that still doesn’t mean you can’t jump off the ropes or bash your opponent with a steel chair!
