What’s Cool: Jakks EyeClops Bionic Eye

Jakks Bionic EyeRemember when you were a child? Heck, do you have a child? If you do, I’m sure you know that children are curious little creatures that like to explore and discover new things. I remember that one of the best Christmas gifts I had gotten was a portable microscope from my aunt — infact, I’m certain I have it still packed away in a container somewhere. Anyway, I remember using it to look at my skin, ants, carpets, coins, etc. It brought me hours of entertainment and I never really got bored with it.

Now enter the Bionic Eye. It is a hand-held device that plugs into your TV and lets you see objects up to 200x magnification on it! It only takes 5 AA batteries and has built-in LED lights to illuminate the object you are looking at. It also comes with an observation dish and tube for easy viewing of liquids and objects. The recommended age for this toy is 6–12 years but we adults can play with this too (Just be sure to not hog it too much).

What’s Cool: Brian the Brain by Mega Brands

December 7th, 2007 newbiefodder Posted in Toys 3 Comments »

Brain the BrainBrian the Brain is an interactive AI buddy that uses text-to-speech software which means it has an almost unlimited vocabulary. It learns things about the user and will work that information into its conversations. That is not all however, as it also holds a reservoir of information which includes a dictionary, world history timeline, and the Britannica encyclopedia. Brian the brain can also help to keep your child organized and aware of important dates with its calendar. In addition to all of that, it is programmed with games, trivia, jokes, among other things but the coolest part of this toy maybe that it includes a built-in motion sensor alarm to keep your child’s room protected!

This toy is recommended for children ages 8-12 and requires 4xAA and 3xAAA batteries.
